Minimalism & Beyond
Spring/Summer 2019 has arrived and it comes with a wide range of choices for every woman. The trends incorporate anything from heaps of clean minimalism to retro-inspired full skirts, bold neon brights to a spectrum of earth tones. The styles this season feel limitless and yet accessible. Relaxed elegance of tone on tone pairing comes in a range of taupes and army fatigue greens, as seen in some of our favorite collections from Dorothee Schumacher and Nili Lotan. Accenting these 50 shades of beige we are seeing powder blues, lavenders and the continued trend of marigold. This citrus shade is not just for sun lovers. Designers are interjecting a range of yellow into just about everything this season, from bold ankle-grazing skirts to head-to-toe florals.
The silhouettes for Spring are all about a relaxed ease. Ample cut bottoms define a narrow waistline, delicately gathered and tied at the waist. Pairing with these fuller cuts are ultra-feminine blouses that reveal just enough. These skin-revealing toppers show off artful twists with more personal details. The collections celebrate artistry and the imperfection of handicraft yet look very high-end.
Easing in from the Fall collections, leopard prints remain a staple pattern this season, but done in a toned-down palette for a fresher take. Placed in retro-inspired full skirts or in relaxed and fluid silks, the animal print is here to stay. Designers updated another classic this season with florals; subtly yet seamlessly clashing mismatching prints in one head-to-toe look. These all-over floral prints are a perfect pair with some of the key dress shapes of the season. Maxi lengths, and even some long sleeves, they are just the kind of “throw-on” dresses we are craving for Summer.
